Sustainability in Exhibition Stands.

One of the new big drives in 2016 is sustainability, especially within the event and exhibition industry which is growing exponentially. But stands and booths at exhibitions and trade shows can potentially be damaging towards the environment due to a few factors.

Firstly, exhibition and event display contractors want to create unique, eye catching stands accompanied by huge graphics and visuals. Unfortunately these stands are often then only used  discarded or stored away and forgotten. Its the same for those huge graphics as well, they are often tailored towards a specific event  and therefore are often not re-usable.

Another issue when it comes to sustainability at exhibitions or trade shows is that a number of stands and booths are being created out of wood or wood based products. This is often because of the versatility and adaptability that wood affords to contractors. There are some obvious problems with having a large wooden exhibition stand. Firstly because it is not cost effective due to it not being re-usable as the dimensions of the display often don't measure up to your next stand size and realistically creative ideas often change from stand to stand. Wooden products also require a very large and knowledgeable work force to cut, construct and decorate the display at the venue. It was previously the only way for contractors to create unique designs and features that were completely modular.

Exhibition stand holders and contract builders are starting to wise up and explore new ways at becoming more eco-friendly. The new trend within the industry is fully aluminium or plastic modular systems. These new modular display systems allow contractors to reuse the parts in a variety of different manners. Creating new and innovative displays without having to purchase a brand new product. It also affords them to easily attach new graphics to the paneling whereas before with the wooden panels it was not possible due to it being directly painted on.

At the forefront of the new aluminium modular display systems is Tecna Display with both its T3 Systems and Affinity products. Both these systems allow for stunningly simple yet striking displays solutions, but each with its own additional unique features. The systems accommodate virtually any graphical profiles to be attached which adds to their eco-friendliness and makes them more cost effective.
